adjustment - an appraisal method that facilitates comparisons of similar but not identical properties. An appraiser will make additions or subtractions to dollar- value estimates because of differences between aspects of the subject property and the most closely comparable properties. For example, an appraiser might add $10,000 to the estimated price of a subject property because of an extra bedroom, or subtract $20,000 because of an inferior location.
