Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) - a federal statute designed to assure borrowers that credit reports maintained by credit reporting agencies do not contain inaccurate information concerning the borrower's credit history. The Act allows individuals to inspect their own credit reports, add explanations, and demand the removal of incorrect information.
