joinder - a legal term referring to a variety of circumstances in which disparate elements or parties are brought together to facilitate a desired result. One example, joinder of claims, is the right of a party to a lawsuit to assert all legally possible claims against the other party, whether the claims are equitable or legal in nature. Another, compulsory joinder, requires the naming of an unnamed party to a lawsuit where the presence of that party in court is required for complete relief for the plaintiff.
