Uniform Building Code (UBC) ? a national set of building and construction regulations published by the International Conference of Building Officials. It has been adopted extensively in the western United States and is slowly being adopted or adapted throughout the nation. It has also served as the code of El Salvador and was the basis for the national codes of Japan and Brazil. See also building codes.
