weatherstrip - a strip of felt, plastic, metal, or other material applied to air gaps, such as those between doors and door jambs or windows and frames, to prevent air from passing in or out. The purpose is to make a structure more airtight, so that heating and cooling systems will operate efficiently. See also insulation.
