Real Estate Definition - constructive notice

constructive notice - (also called legal notice) a judicial device that imputes knowledge of certain facts to certain parties based on a legal presumption that a reasonable person would have discovered the facts. Examples include recorded liens and notices of default on real property that are public documents by virtue of having been recorded or published in a newspaper of general circulation.
