School District Report For WAYNESVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT R 6

School of Excellents
Lord

The Army assigned me to Fort Leonard Wood in 1995. It was immediately apparent to my wife and I that this was a school system that cares. Waynesville has one of the best pay schedules for teachers in the state. This gives the District the ability to pick the best, and they have done a good job.

I have great admiration for our teachers they seem to really care about the kids. I have never had an instance when a teacher was to busy to asset me or my children.

Our School administrators are also very efficient. They were able through restructuring to build a new elementary and High School without raising taxes or lowering the standers. We also installed turf on the football field.

We have a variety of extra curricular/sport activities. Our Football team is the state Champion for 2007, both the boys and girls basketball teams made it to the final 8 in 2007. The Band and Choir have won numerous awards.

I have 4 kids in the School district and it was one of the major factors in my wife and me deciding to make Waynesville our home.
